Most developing artists are either starting out as hobbyists, small business owners or working part time toward building up an art business. It takes hard work and often happens over a long period of time.
If you look back into art history, you will recall how Vincent Van Gogh's artwork, was gravely undervalued while alive. Modigliani struggled to subsist and so on... there are numerous stories. Now after their deaths, their artworks sell for multi millions.
Today there are many ways to help you build up your finances or support you while developing your art business. Here's one way that I came across. Have a look and let me know if you try out the product and what you think of it. For further information on this product see the link below.

Bedford Art Gallery upcoming exhibition
One thing is certain, there is always something going on in the Bay Area art world. It's all very exciting to have so much to choose from. Mmm...I wonder what I will stumble onto next? From June 29- August 31 the Bedford Art Gallery will show Local Voice 2008: Defining Community through Art. This is a juried exhibition and has proven to be popular in the past. A great opportunity to view some of the best and most impressive art from Contra Costa County. I will certainly be attending this one!

Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival
Hello Everyone!
I recently visited this festival with my family; one of a first for us in this area. It was a clear, warm , sunny day buzzing with people. There were a number of art and craft stands. Two artists stood out in particular for me. Paul Nzalamba, whose art works are both personal experiences and cultural Ugandan inspired Batik paintings ( a wax resist fabric dying technique). Paul's paintings were vivid and held profound meaning within each image. We had the luxury of meeting and talking to Paul about his works in some detail.
The second artist whose work affected us, was Michael Anthony Nisperos, described as an Abstract Expressionist. His works were either vibrant abstracts or muted figurative pieces.
There were a number of other craft artists that impressed us too, including the contemporary glass vessels of Spring Designs, Jeff & Jenny Tseng.
The next festival we hope to attend is the 29th Annual Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival, July 12-13.
